The Austin Impressions team did a home remodel for me in the summer of 2008. Not only I am very satisfied with the outcome, but I am also impressed (pun intended) with their professionalism throughout the entire remodeling experience. They made conscious efforts to work with me on my budget and made creative recommendations when budget risks arose. I am very satisfied with the outcome of the budget work. The Austin Impressions team was always dependable and timely. I was able to confidently stay out of their way knowing they were getting the job done and getting it done on time. At any given moment, I was able to show up at the remodel site and comfortably converse/interact with the team. The team is very friendly and considerate of the clients. In fact, I still use Austin Impressions for smaller home projects and feel as if the Austin Impressions workers are old friends of mine. We had a very good experience with Austin Impressions. While researching and looking for a contractor we came across many horror stories of projects left hanging or never seeming to end. Our expectations were high but guarded. An architect friend recommended John Gelkin. We ended up choosing a design/build approach where John was a part of each planning meeting with our architect, offering his expertise and honest opinion from the start.

John was vested in our project from the very beginning and saw it through to the end. He was mindful of the budget and kept the project on schedule despite several rain interruptions. During our project, he did not accept sub par work. In fact, after our kitchen ceiling was painted, he had it replaced because he was not happy with the workmanship. This all happened before we even noticed.

Our neighbors also saw the quality and high work ethic of Austin Impressions. They often commented at how quickly the work got done, and how workers were on site daily and kept busy. Austin Impressions introduced themselves to our neighbors and asked that they be contacted if there were any problems related to their work.

We were also impressed by the web based project management system that Austin Impression uses. We could communicate easily, track the schedule and keep our architect in the loop. We also received weekly updates on the budget. There were very few surprises during the whole process.

Renovations and additions can be a challenge with many unknown factors. It was a pleasure to work with John, Josh, Yvonne, Alejandro and the subs that made up our crew. We highly recommend Austin Impressions and would work with them again. Until then, we will enjoy our new wonderful home!
