Austin Impressions is a full service Design and Build construction company committed to providing the best possible remodeling experience for its clientele. end of the project, and our company places a high priority on listening to you, your needs and wishes. Our philosophy in keeping the client happy well after the sale may explain why over 80% of the company's business comes from repeat customers and/or referrals.

John Gehlken is a strong, self-motivated leader with over twenty years of business experience both in large and small corporations, working to develop new and innovative systems and solutions for business issues while building effective teams of customer support.
With such a strong business background, it was natural for John to step into a new arena and build from the ground up Austin Impressions, a successful construction company with a new twist. The Design-Build concept caught his eye as it offered clients a more effective way to remodel or do new construction. He has assembled a knowledgeable support team and reliable subcontractors along with detailed systems of operation. This, combined with an approach of operating as a responsible builder, has blossomed into a reputable construction company with John at the helm.
Green and sustainable building is John's passion staying in harmony with his passion for being a yogi. He makes sure to stay in balance with a regular yoga practice.
Our illustrious designer/project manager, Josh Bera, wears many hats (literally also). In keeping with his South Carolina roots, he has a gentleman's way of handling a job's many obstacles. Fifteen years in the construction field has brought him experience in everything from electrical layouts to kitchen cabinetry in both residential and commercial building. His keen eye and managerial skills keep the job progressing smoothly and efficiently.
Josh's alternate hat is as Austin Impression's designer/draftsman. After taking architectural courses at Weber State University in Utah, he furthered his design abilities at Delta Ouachita Vocational School, then worked for a drafting firm as draftsman/designer for five years. He has come on board as an in house designer bringing along the ability to put into drawings the visions of the client.
You may see Josh on a local golf course on occasion with the "boss" as golf is his first love and the way he stays in balance.
As office manager/ interior decorator, Yvonne Holliday holds Austin Impressions together in the background while throwing in all kinds of interior design advice.
After studying music and education at the graduate level, then teaching for several years, she changed directions and started following her creative talents. She worked for Monicle design in Houston for seven years with both residential and commercial clients. This led to owning several retail stores and a website. Such a varied experience along with a family background in construction prepared her for the rigors of running a design-build office and being part of the design team. She handles everything from weekly invoicing and website maintenance to guiding the clients in choosing paint colors and finishes.
Yvonne's passion is creating Mediterranean gardens and redesigning homes through the ancient science of Vastu Shastra.
Alejandro Torres, affectionately known as Alex, can be seen around all of the Austin Impressions projects wielding a hammer or drill or just about any other tool necessary to get the job done. As our in-house carpenter, he has many talents that support construction and remodeling. Most of his skills were learned both in Mexico where he had a successful painting company, and here in Austin where he has worked for the last seven years. He is also helping us to hone our Spanish speaking skills.
